With innovative depolymerization technology, BASF transforms used polyamide 6 (PA6) plastics from demanding applications into high-quality raw materials for new products. Even contaminated or glass-fiber-reinforced plastic components from end-of-life vehicles can be returned to the material cycle. During the process, the material is broken down into its chemical building blocks, purified, and rebuilt into high-quality new PA6.
The result: recycled materials with properties comparable to virgin material, suitable even for technically demanding applications. This helps conserve valuable resources, reduce the use of fossil feedstocks, and actively advance the circular economy.
